Human. Thing. Place
Project "Human. Thing. Place" was held in Chernyahovsk (previously Insterburg). Until 1945 the city was part of Germany, and then, after the second World War was captured by Soviet troops. At the present time city belongs to the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation.
The city has rich architectural and historical heritage, which was preserved since times of Prussia. However, the authorities don’t preserve this heritage. Separate architectural and historical monuments are supervised by volunteers and they’re the only one who takes care of it, because the authorities and others are so indifferent to the fate of the heritage.
For this project I’ve been taking pictures of people, who voluntarily preserve the places which are important for them, pictures of the places themselves and their beloved objects.
